Sun | May 29 | 9:30pm The Jelly Roll Blues Band They're Back! Northern Michigan's most popular live rock-and-roll, rhythm-and-blues act kick's off their 2011 season at Legs.
Fri | Jun 24 | 9:30pm CRACKER Unplugged feat. David Lowery & Johnny Hickman CRACKER, the group that veritably introduced brash irreverence and irony into alt-rock, is known for mixing influences and sounds ranging from rock, punk, alt-country, psychedelia, blues, and folk.
Back in the mid-1980s, frontman David Lowery formed CAMPER VAN BEETHOVEN, and the group's "Take the Skinheads Bowling" became an instant college radio staple. When CVB disbanded on tour in Sweden, following their second major label release, Lowery formed Cracker with his longtime friend, guitarist Johnny Hickman. Cracker's emergent sound had less in common with Camper's exotic excursions and was more in synch with the Kinks and Southern roots music.
They released their self-titled debut on Virgin Records, and following the #1 Modern Rock hit "Teen Angst (What The World Needs Now)," the band became a minor commercial sensation (complete with then-significant MTV exposure). The platinum-selling Kerosene Hat contained the enormous, era-defining hit single "Low," as well as "Get Off This," and "Eurotrash Girl."
When the dust settled, Cracker found themselves with an ever-growing, devoted following both in the U.S. (where fans refer to themselves as "Crumbs") and throughout Europe. Today the band stays well connected to yet another generation of fans via internet, many of whom were kids when these alt-rock godfathers were first ruling rock radio.
Eight albums (one platinum and three gold) and a barrel full of anthemic hit songs later, Cracker endures, using their ability to weave decades of influences into music that is, to this day, seamlessly riveting.

Sat | Sep 3 The Ben Daniels Band Blissfest.org presents the "Live at Legs" Concert Series. When Ben Daniels decided he was going to be a musician, it was more than a career choice. A natural poet, this young songwriter went to school on Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson, and Jack White, among others. His lyrics speak directly to a younger generation that hears, sees, and thinks about the very things he?s writing. From their opening song to the finale of their set, the Ben Daniels Band cuts through with their originality, musicianship, and a sound that spans blues, reggae, hip hop, and even jazz. BDB has played throughout Michigan, as well as Nashville and New York City. As a solo artist, Ben has stepped on the stage in Austin, TX at the Cactus Cafe, as well as The Barns at Wolf Trap. He has even sang at the grave of legendary bluesman Robert Johnson in Greenwood, Mississippi. The son of actor Jeff Daniels, he has quietly monitored what it takes to live life as an artist. With George Merkel on guitar, Kalen Percha on drums, Tommy Reifel on bass, and Wesley Fritzemeier on fiddle, BDB?s live show never fails to take over the venue. Their songs become anthems with arrangements that pull people inside their sound. With two CDs (?Coming From The C? and ?Checkin? In To The Michigan Inn?) and a third on the way, the Ben Daniels Band is the real deal.
